здравствуйте! (zdrazdvudye!) = hello there!
привет! (privyet!) = hello!
как дела? (kak dlya?) = how are you?
до свидания! (dozvedanye!) = good day! (bye!)

Slowly learning a little bit of Russian pronounciation here. It's fun! And Skype is cool. Had a converstation on Skype with 4 ladies and 1 guy in Russia yesterday (at the same time). Also introduced my parents to the wonders of Skype too, so it was one big group call. Loads of fun! :-D

Other ones that are useful are:
пока (paka) - informal goodbye
на здорове (na zdarovje) - cheers!
не знаю (nje znaju) - I don't know
не панимаю (nje panimaju) - I don't understand
Russian pronunciation is pretty difficult because you need to know where the stress in a word is. Unstressed "O" is pronounced like an "A" and the stress sometimes changes when a case is used.
Anyway, Russian is awesome! :)

That above ^, and the long / short vowels / stresses. I've already told you that all of the vowels we use are almost always short (even in open syllables). The same rules apply to Russian. I hope the translit' table I wrote for you helps ;).
