Whooooo!
It's good to be in the UK this year!
The year and 1 month starting this monday, to be exact.
Why?
I'll tell you why.
Because the VAT rate in the UK has been slashed to just 15% THAT'S WHY!!!!
In NL we're all talking about raising the rate from 19 to 20%, but in the UK they cut it from 17.5 to just 15!
It's obviously a drastic measure to prevent an uncontrollable recession, but it's great for the consumer! Time to go and do some serious Christmas shoppinggggg ;-)
The lower VAT rate will be in effect for 13 months. So from this monday all the way up to the end of 2009. I wonder which financial/accounting systems will get in trouble because of this :-P
