A first time for everything

Probably I was like one of the last Mohicans.

Today I met a girl. It was her first day at work. And it was my first day at her work. IKEA.

Yep. I ordered stuff from IKEA. Like... wtf? But oh well. I need some easypeasy furnishing for a room, so it's somewhat survivable at my Dutch place, until I finally get round to fully refurbishing the place. And I don't understand why everybody is so excited about IKEA and that it's so cheap. Sure, ordering was easy enough. But EUR 1900 for 1 bed + mattress, 1 wardrobe, 2 bedside cupboards, 1 simplistic bookcase and 1 uber-simple desk.
Ok... the wardrobe is 3 meters wide, and the bed is a double, and it's being delivered, but still... It's not even a complete room furnishing!

Anyway. That was my first time of buying something substantial at IKEA. (I say substantial, because yes everybody on this planet (I believe even the poor kids in Afrika) has obviously been or even bought some smaller things at an IKEA store at some point in their life. Including me.)

Now 2 more weeks of having nothing in this forsaken place and then it's time for doing the bloody flat-pack unpacking thing. Maybe I should get some carpet or something before then as well. Hmmm.... not sure...

I wonder why you have to wait for 2 weeks. The IKEA I usually visit has a 'fast transport' service that can deliver the contents of your shopping trolley on the same day you bought them :)

You said it. "On your shopping trolley."
You think I can carry 500 kilos worth of stuff, including a bulky double-size mattress, on my own on a trolley? No way :-)
So I placed a 'Distribution Order' which will be assembled in the main depot in Germany and then delivered from there.
