Nope. Not the eighties band :-)

Last Saturday I teamed up with lovely Dorine to go to the London Wetlands Centre. When you're there it's hard to believe you're actually next to the city center of one of the worlds biggest and busiest cities. You can sit in hiding for hours watching the birds live in peace in the vast watery areas without ever getting bored. The best film ever created, is out there.

I'll post some pictures soon (hopefully this evening) but I have to run to work so just 2 for now.

Here's Dorine looking out of one of the small windows of one of the 6 birdwatcher huts scattered throughout the area. She's looking at a most wonderful sight, which I managed to capture only slightly out of focus: a Kingfisher! The speed of those birds is bizarre, and they're quite rare. So we got really lucky to spot it and actually capture it. It's been the first time in my life that I've actually seen one in the wild.
