Gerardo Núñez quintet

Last thursday I went to the London Flamenco Festival again. With Ilja, obviously. This time my wonderful Spanish friend Silvia joined in.

The concert was magnificent. Gerardo played the guitar so well. Amazin. The atmosphere was thrilling.

The performance was both great and funny. Funny because, for example: the guy who did the percussion at some point, during a big solo of the bass player, walked over to him and joined in. Using the bass as the drum, while the other guy still kept playing it too. Marvelous!

Everybody clap clap clap at the end of the show. Whoowhoooo we want more!

When we went outside, we saw a car with quite a fitting license plate standing outside! Here's Silvia posing with it.

Turned out it was the Spanish ambassador's car.
Then when we wanted to go for a drink, and Silvia was a bit disappointed that we couldn't go backstage... it turned out the band was standing outside. So screams of joy, passion, kisses. hugs. shaking hands, etcetera, all around.

Ilja and Silvia with the 3 bandmembers:

And with Carmen Cortés:

Aaaaan with the maestro himself: Gerardo Núñez:

I guess they were thinking something like....*sigh*... bloody fans... bloody papparazzi... :P
